The tables are turning to reflect a new age of truth seekers. The voice and actions of some online hackers coined hacktivists are slowly changing public perception with support growing daily. The group who call themselves Anonymous have a mission to achieve a truly new realm of leaderless world order. Their first mandate is to keep influencers honest.<\/h6><\/div><\/div>

In 2014, I experienced first hand what it felt like to have my online presence invaded by cyberbullies and intrusive hackers. It turned my world upside down. I questioned everything and quickly learnt how easily it is to get swayed into believing the propaganda. My twelve-month online attack was undoubtedly an eye-opener. I rank it in the top two worst experiences of my life. The whole ordeal made me wonder why people with talented hacking capabilities don\u2019t channel their focus on doing some good in the world. <\/span><\/p>

Enter Anonymous. The words <\/span>\"We do not forgive, and we do not forget, expect us\"<\/span><\/em> is what resonated with me as the most evocative part of their mandate. <\/span><\/h6><\/div><\/div>

Movements such as Anonymous are encouraging the self-empowerment of techno-savvy laypeople to dare to make a positive difference. Quite frankly, it excites me. We just need to find a way to make the system work in a way that is fair and legal.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The systems are broken<\/h6>

In Australia, a convicted child rapist and pedophile by the name of \"Mr. Baldy\" (real name: Brian Keith Jones) was released from a deemed to be served prison sentence into the unsuspecting community with what was stated by the governing body as strict parole conditions.<\/span><\/p>

This sick individual was a predator during my adolescent years. Mr. Baldy had a penchant for shaving the heads of his young male victims and sometimes adorned them in girl\u2019s dresses. He served eight years in the 1980s for the invasive sexual crimes linked to six boys. Post-Brian\u2019s release, he reoffended almost immediately, sexually assaulting two more boys. The \u2018justice\u2019 system awarded him a 14-year prison term for his re-offense.<\/span><\/p>

We are trapped within the confines of an archaic legal system.<\/h6><\/div><\/div>

When Mr. Baldy was released, an investigating media reporter tracked the residential location of this sycophant. Would it surprise you to learn that the government allocated home for this repeat sex offender is located approx 1 klm from five Primary Schools and within proximity to a popular skate park? <\/span><\/p>

Due to the media release<\/a> of the name of the neighborhood, convicted peodophile Brian Keith Jones had to be relocation to protect him from being targeted by angry citizens. <\/span><\/p>

Hmm, yep, let\u2019s spend more hard-earned tax dollars on protecting and hiding the person who is a convicted repeat offending predator.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>

Hacktivists - Not Playing By the Rules<\/h6><\/div><\/div>

A Canadian teenager by the name of <\/span>Bradley Willman<\/span><\/a>\u2019s over a decade ago made the papers because his actions led to the eventual imprisonment of a Californian Judge by the name of Ronald Kline\u2019s. The Judge was in possession of child pornography. Bradley used his genius to develop a Trojan horse computer malware program. It imbedded itself onto pedophile\u2019s computers, which resulted in full access to their systems.<\/span><\/p>

Bradley forwarded the information to a pedophile watch group, and eventually, the details landed in the hands of authorities. He was only a kid at the time, yet he championed the cause to expose predators.<\/span><\/p>

Trojan Horse<\/h6><\/div><\/div>

The legality of the use of the Trojan horse was a founding argument that Ronald's lawyer utilized to challenge the charges. So, in laymen term\u2019s, no-one was arguing that Judge Kline had copious amounts of child pornography on his computer and in his home. The position from the defense was more aligned to, 'But your Honor it was accessed without permission so it shouldn\u2019t be admissible.' <\/span><\/p>

Personally, this concept leaves me speechless. <\/span><\/p>

Ronald, after a six-year defensive battle in the legal system, finally lost and got a prison sentence applied. What do you suppose a man who was assigned to be the purveyor of justice and an executioner of fair judgment received for this betrayal of community trust and heinous crime? <\/span><\/p>

A total of twenty-seven months in Federal prison with eligibility of parole post serving a mandatory twenty-three months.<\/span><\/p>

Let\u2019s segway back to Anonymous. I know there is a lot of debate going on about pushing to label vigilante behavior as \u2018acts of terror.\u2019 My question is, why are influential organizations and high profile individuals trying to place a negative label on hacktivist's actions? Instead of considering them an enemy, perhaps their existence highlights the shortfalls of systems, laws, and legislations. Intervention is needed to fix what is broken. <\/span><\/p>

The groups acting under the banner of Anonymous are driving an alternate path toward seeking fair, just, and moral outcomes. Their presence is slowly leveling out the playing field by encouraging global influencers, whether it be corporate or individuals, to carefully consider their actions. <\/span><\/p>
